Objectives and Strategies
We have created the NGO AlLLIANCE on Global Concerns to help overcome the inevitable teething problems associated with penetrating the arcane world of the United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG). Our executive board volunteers their time to make your time more productive. We provide step-by-step guidance to the UN world that awaits your NGO, offering assistance on how to operate more efficiently during your visits to Geneva.
The NGO ALLIANCE provides information and networking opportunities that will introduce NGOs and newly accredited organisations and their Representatives to the United Nations Office in Geneva and enable them to better understand how to create partnerships and coordinate expertise and information sharing to be more efficiently engaged with the work of the United Nations.
It might do this in partnership with any of its member organisations by providing training and seminars on recurring themes, including the UN System, UN processes, the Human Rights Council, Human Rights or the Universal Periodic Review and is planning to extend this also through teleconferencing.
The NGO ALLIANCE facilitates the creation of NGO Forums on substantive issue as a networking space for open discussion and expression of ideas for NGOs accredited with the United Nations, and other UN related agencies and networks working on similar thematic and global issues.
One of the most useful tools to begin with is are our digital newsletter which provide information and insider tips throughout the year on UNOG and related agencies and how they work with NGOs. These will be uploaded to our website, accessible to members only, with updated when necessary with information that you will need while at UNOG.
